Earlier today, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine released an updated version of Ohio Sunshine Laws: An Open Government Resource Manual, which is commonly referred to as the “Yellow Book.” The manual includes information about Ohio’s Public Records Act and Open Meetings Act (collectively referred to as the Sunshine Laws) and includes recent updates. The manual serves as a great resource on these topics.

OSBA provides a number of member resources related to school districts and Ohio’s Sunshine Laws, including the OSBA Sunshine Laws for Schools publication, which is available for purchase through OSBA’s online store, and a fact sheet available to members via OSBA’s Resources by Topic webpage. Members also can access public records-related resources on OSBA’s Resources by Topic webpage.

The Attorney General’s press release also served as a reminder about available online sunshine laws trainings. You can find more information about those training and other Sunshine Law related resources on the Attorney General’s website at: https://sunshinelaw.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/.
