OSBA hosts workshops for new board members in January and workshops for veteran board members in February.  New board of education members are invited to register for one of our four Board Member 101: Survival Kit for Your First 90 Days in Office. The first Board Member 101 will be held January 11, 2020 in two different locations; Miamisburg and Warrensville Heights.  The second sessions are on January 25, again in two locations; Perrysburg and Dublin.

The Board Member 101 workshops are two-day events that will guide each attendee on boardmanship, critical legal issues, and legal resources. On the following day, the workshop will dive into legislation, OSBA resources, policy and goal setting.  Breakfast and lunch are included on both Saturday and Sunday.

Once a board member has progressed through the 101 workshop and been on the job for a while, OSBA encourages you to attend the 201 workshops.  Board Member 201: Mastering Your Board Leadership Skills workshops are designed to assist the proficient board member to elevate their artistry of leadership.  The Board Member 201 workshop is a one-day event that will walk members through leading meetings and team building in addition to new transportation mandates and practical uses of parliamentary procedure. The first Board Member 201 sessions will be held February 1, 2020 in two different locations; Akron and Miamisburg. The second sessions are on February 8, also in two locations; Findlay and Columbus.

We, at OSBA, want all board members and districts to succeed with their aspirational goals, and these workshops are a great tool to facilitate your success. Please visit the OSBA Training and Events page to locate the workshop that works for your schedule. Hope to see you there!
