Qualifications: A valid Ohio School Treasurer License or evidence that one is obtainable; successful experience as a school treasurer is desirable and preferred, but not required; understanding of Ohio School Law, Ohio school finance, and state software programs; ability to present financial data in simple, understandable terms and to use technology to ensure timely reporting; proficient computer skills and knowledge of applications necessary to access timely and relevant information and be able to disseminate same; displays expertise with annual audit processes that results in a responsible, accountable, and credible reporting; takes responsibility for adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and deadlines; shows knowledge about the collective bargaining process; addresses public records requests in a timely manner; displays personal integrity, loyalty, leadership, good communication skills and the ability to work well with staff, the Superintendent, and the Board of Education; additional qualifications which the Board may specify.

Strong financial and detail-oriented reporting skills; demonstrate knowledge of state and local funding issues, Ohio laws and regulations about public schools; experience in effective process management and organizational skills; expertise in developing, communicating, and managing business office procedures; experience with and understanding of operating software and procedures; proven ability to work with others – a team player; ability to facilitate educational discussions/decisions through an economic perspective; demonstrate excellent interpersonal and practical communication skills; leadership skills for staff and various finance committees; experience with contract negotiations.
