Old Fort Local School is seeking a Treasurer with proven leadership capabilities, a passion for children, a commitment to the district and community along with administrative experience. The ideal candidate shall demonstrate the following financial leadership characteristics: Proven ability to work with others – a team player; strong financial and detail-oriented reporting skills; ability to facilitate educational discussions/decisions through an economic perspective; demonstrates excellent interpersonal and practical communication skills; demonstrates knowledge of state and local funding issues, Ohio laws and regulations about public schools; experience in effective process management and organizational skills; leadership skills for staff and various finance committees; experience with and understanding of operating software and procedures; expertise in developing, communicating, and managing business office procedures; experience with contract negotiations.

The new treasurer should hold a treasurer’s license from the state of Ohio or be able to obtain one by Jan. 1, 2026.
The new treasurer should be able to demonstrate accomplishments in the following areas: Understanding of Ohio school law and public-school financing; maintain fiscal credibility and serve as the district’s fiscal expert; must have demonstrated experience in sound financial management practices; must have excellent analytical skills and good communication skills; must be able to explain/teach complicated fiscal terms, revenue complexities, and budget issues; organizational skills, collaboration, integrity, enthusiasm, energy and positivity are character traits that will serve well the new treasurer; the district offers a competitive wage and benefits package.

The Norwood Board of Education has set a potential annual salary range of $130,000 to $170,000. The lower end of the range is just to account for an inexperienced hire. But the Board is looking for an experienced CFO to guide the district.
