A Mad River Local (Montgomery) Stebbins High School class rocks harder and louder than others. Over the course of 16 weeks, students in the school’s guitar building class turn a block of wood into a fully functional instrument. The seniors-only class uses the guitar building process as a vehicle to get students engaged in science, technology, math and engineering, or stem. In addition to graduating with a guitar, students also can earn free college credit.
