Gov. Mike DeWine, through an executive order from Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton, announced a phased-in plan that reopens businesses with exceptions throughout the month of May. Additionally, Acton issued another executive order extending the closure of K-12 schools through June 30. Ohio Department of Education
The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) released a joint statement with the Ohio Department of Health regarding guidance on high school graduation ceremonies. Additionally, ODE provided updated information and an FAQ for graduation requirements as well as information for the 22+ adult high school diploma program. The deadline to adopt a policy for students at risk of not graduating and for individual graduation plans has been delayed until Sept. 30. ODE also provided updated information and an FAQ regarding the third-grade-reading guarantee. Finally, ODE released updated information and an FAQ to address career and technical education and early learning and school readiness.
