This virtual event is for staff who supervise safety-sensitive CDL (commercial driver's license) drivers, including school bus drivers. Completion of this course is required for all who supervise or dispatch CDL drivers. Best practice is that each district should have at least two administrators trained in this requirement.

This course meets Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion.

We also will review the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and how it changed drug and alcohol testing history checks. This section is designed to educate administrators who manage the FMCSA DOT drug and alcohol testing on the following clearinghouse requirements:

Overview and clearinghouse basics
Employer registration and query purchasing
How to request drivers’ history checks (queries)
Identify driver responsibilities and obtain their consent
Violation reporting to the clearinghouse
