More than 50% of people in the U.S. have listened to a podcast, and these listeners are proving to be loyal. Podcasting now presents school districts with an incredible opportunity to elevate the voices of their leadership, students and teachers and educate their stakeholders in a unique and viable way. But, the prospect of podcasting can be daunting. Where do you start and how do you do it? In this interactive workshop, participants will get a primer on how to tell their districts’ stories in sound. They will: ● discover how schools, leaders, educators and students are already employing podcasting as a tool in their school districts; ● learn about the various equipment, tools, technologies and platforms that can be used in creating a podcast; ● discover how to structure a show, discover the stories and market a podcast; ● learn tips on interviewing, scriptwriting, editing, music and more; ● participate in the production of a podcast episode during the workshop.
