8:30 am: What you need to know about fiscal caution, watch and emergency
Unfortunately for many schools, clearly understanding the steps and processes for fiscal caution/watch/emergency is becoming an important issue. Treasurers need to know when to call ODE or AOS; how the solvency fund works; what catastrophic grants are; and how the process impacts five-year forecasting. This presentation will cover all aspects of the process, as well as allowing time to address your questions and concerns.

 Professional standards
House Bill 1 required the State Board of Education to adopt professional standards for school treasurers and school business managers. The standards were writtenby a committee of OASBO members and other keystakeholders, which was created through the collaborative efforts of ODE and OASBO. The Ohio Educator Standards Board (ESB) reviewed andrecommended the writing team’s work to the State Board of Education. This session provides an overview of the new standards.
