Kim Murnieks, executive director for ODE’s Office of School Finance.
Strong communication between the district treasurer and Education Management Information System coordinator is crucial during a levy campaign. Kim Murnieks, executive director of the Center for School Options & School Finance at the Ohio Department of Education, will give tips on how to reduce confusion about data. She also will demonstrate a new online tool, District Fiscal Benchmark Report that allows districts and other stakeholders to analyze more thoroughly district expenditures in order to promote more effective and efficient use of resources.

How do you identify positive voters? Once identified, what are some methods for communicating with the positive voters? How to make sure your positive voters get to the polls on election day.

Because we will have attendees who have varying degrees of experience in understanding and using social media, this break-out was suggested. Define “social media.” What types of social media exist? How to understand all the social media “lingo.” Which methods of social media are most effective with which demographic(s).

When does it make sense to reach out to dissenters? Learn to analyze your opposition, and develop strategies for ensuring that your message is trusted when it counts.
