Ohio Public Schools Speak

Great things happen every day in our public schools. More than 1.8 million students, speaking some 110 different languages, are taught in nearly 4,000 buildings in Ohio's 719 school districts.

To share our achievements, OSBA produced a powerful video, "Ohio Public Schools Speak." It is the first step of a public awareness campaign to promote the importance of Ohio public education. The video is based upon a story by Frosty Troy, editor of the Oklahoma Observer and focuses on the great things happening in Ohio public schools.

The script was adapted from a video created through a joint project of all the public schools in Licking County. OSBA participated in that project.

The seven-and-one-half minute video features school board members, principals, teachers, superintendents and students plus a coach, a treasurer, a food service supervisor and a bus driver. Each tells a story of the value of public education.

"Ohio Public Schools Speak" is designed to show at school or community events, Rotary or Chamber of Commerce meetings, and anywhere else school leaders would like to promote their districts.

OSBA created materials to help you tell about your schools' success, including a tip sheet and the video script. You also can download a speech to use after showing the video or a speech to use in place of the video.
