Labor Relations

A school board's ability to provide sound educational programs is directly affected by its ability to successfully negotiate labor agreements. The obligation to negotiate with a union over terms and conditions of employment and the ability to administer the contract allows the board to govern efficiently and effectively.

Because of the impact collective bargaining has on the educational process, OSBA offers the following labor relations services to member boards: contract analyses and evaluations, providing background advice on language proposals and strategies, drafting proposals and counterproposals, at-the-table negotiations representation, impasse assistance, grievance/arbitration/SERB proceedings representation and inservice training and strike management assistance. Our services are comprehensive, yet cost effecient and provided by a team of personnel experienced in public school employee relations.
